The Often Apologetic Alex Rodriguez Apologizes Once Again

Recently Alex Rodriguez released a handwritten letter in which he apologized again for taking performance enhancing drugs that led to his well publicized suspension. The New York Yankees offered to let Rodriguez have a press conference at the stadium but he respectfully declined. To the public it seems he declined to have a press conference and release a handwritten letter because it looks more heart felt and meaningful. He said the reason he declined to go to the stadium is because the next time he is there, he needs to be in pinstripes “doing his job.” In the letter he apologized to Major League Baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, the players association, and especially the fans. A Rod also acknowledged the fact many will not believe another word he says and that he realizes the blame is totally on him.

In 2013 commissioner Bud Selig suspended A-Rod 213 games citing his illegal use of performance enhancing drugs. It is currently the longest suspension ever served for PED’s in the history of the league. Still owed $61 million dollars over three years A-Rod met with the owner and top representatives of the Yankees to again apologize and say that his only focus now was to play ball, be the best teammate he can, and help the team produce wins. Personally I think the averaga fan is bored with A-rod. He has lied a few times about using PED’s just like other stars and well beyond his prime now he’s lost much of his abilities. He is a former 3 time MVP however and with solid play, fans will return and again cheer for him. It’s long overdue for him to shut up and play.
