Bearcats, Cumberland earns AAC Player of the Week for the second week in a row

Junior swingman Jarron Cumberland earned American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row and for the fourth time this season. It was the sixth time Cumberland has been the Player of the Week in the AAC, he tied UConn guard Shabazz Napier for the most in conference history (per AAC).

He helped lead the Bearcats to a 2-0 record last week beating Tulsa and Temple, pushing their winning streak up to six games. The junior averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 45.2% from the field.

The way this season is going they might have to change the Player of the Week Award to the Jarron Cumberland Award. If he can keep up this pace he is pretty much a lock for American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Congrats to Jarron.
