From the past to the present, taking a look back at the Bearcats foundation

Zach Edwards, safety (2013-2016)

Thoughts on current teams run:

“It’s really exciting and energizing seeing the program reach these heights, but I believe it’s so much more that can be reached with Fickell. He’s building on to the foundation and I love it. It’s also exciting to see a lot of the local guys being apart of it, being a local guy myself.”

Looking back at his time as a Bearcat:

“I definitely could have seen this coming. I mean look at the programs before I was here. Pike, Binns, Haruki, Mardy, Callaros, Trav and many more I’m leaving off. I mean those guys paved the way and the ones before them opened the door. I believe the tradition was always there to be a top tea, just needed that last puzzle piece to fit, I believe that was coach Fick and his staff top to bottom. I think I can speak for a lot of alumni. Yeah the spot light is shining for these guys this year, their hard work is starting to get the love it deserves, but we’ve been proud of them way before this year.”

Antwan Peek, defensive end (1998-2002)

His time at UC and thoughts about the programs future:

“I thought this program had a bright future just look at the coaches Minter brought in at that time, you got Mike Tomlin, Jimbo Fisher, Greg Hudson and more, they all were hard nose good coaches. We were just steadily chipping away at that ice, I knew it was just a matter of time before we took the next step.”

Thoughts on the current teams run:

“Just to know one of my teammates Gino Guidugli is apart of it and is able to talk about the growth of the program is amazing. I can talk to trash to my former NFL buddies on a weekly basis is amazing (big laugh).”
