Terrelle Pryor has seen some highs and some lows during his football career. Everything started lovely for the Ohio State QB he led the Buckeyes to multiple BCS Bowls even won a few and then tattoo gate happened. When tattoo gate happened it stripped Pryor of his senior year of eligiblity.
Once he was banned from his last year of college ball he declared for the supplemental draft where the Raiders him using a 3rd round pick. He was banned 5 games because of the prior college infraction which with him leaving I don’t know how the NCAA could influence the NFL but hey that’s up for a whole other discussion. With Pryor being out the first 5 games it make his rookie season a wash because during the suspension you can’t do anything with the team, which includes getting reps and learning the playbook hands on.
After his 2nd season with the Raiders it didn’t look like he was going to get much love unless he changed positions. The Raiders traded for Matt Flynn and it seemed like Pryor may be doomed to be trapped on the bench once again.
During this preseason Pryor has outplayed the incumbent Flynn, causing a stir that Pryor may have a legitimate shot at the starting role heading into week one. Will Flynn lose out to another athletic QB? We will see but for those that have written off Pryor I hope they wrote in pencil.
