The Andrew Wiggins Era is Underway in Cleveland

It seems like the city of Cleveland is turning into a hotbed overnight. With Johnny Manziel suiting up the Cleveland Browns and now Andrew Wiggins playing for the Cavaliers the buzz is real in Cleveland.

On draft day the Cavs selected Wiggins No.1 overall.

I think it’s pretty safe that Wiggins wasn’t the best player in the NBA Draft, but he may have the highest ceiling. Wiggins will be the running mate to Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters. On the bright side Wiggins gets to ease into his role, which is rare for the top pick in the draft. Kyrie Irving is the best player on the team, and Wiggins will be in a complimentary role until he is ready to prove otherwise.

If you see the Cavs play it’s pretty clear that Dion Waiters and Irving have a rocky relationship on the court, and at times it seems as if they are fighting over shots. Wiggins is a all-world talent, but he is very unselfish. If Wiggins plays with Waiters and Irving he will be an Andre Iguodala type that will provide top-tier defense and a splash of offense.

I feel that Wiggins has his own discrepancies in his game, but he can hide them by playing with a pretty good team coming into his rookie season. A lot of people feel that Wiggins is a guaranteed superstar, but I don’t think that is the case. Wiggins may be an All-Star someday, but don’t expect the reincarnation of LeBron James. Wiggins is ahead of the curve on the defensive side of the ball, which will suit him well. Wiggins has a long way to go on the offensive side of the ball, but with time he can get better.

The excitement is in the air, and it will be interesting to see how Wiggins’ game will translate to the NBA

  1. Totally agree man, 100%.I don’t see Bron or T-Mac in him like the others, he may be a solid player, but he could be Darius Miles 2.0
