3 plays that hurt the Bearcats in their 32-29 loss to Baylor

If you haven’t been paying attention to TFON or the Cincinnati Bearcats, here is a rundown they have been on a five game losing streak, they lost to the Baylor Bears at Nippert Stadium on Saturday 32-29. The game was close, but overall it was a game that Baylor led the majority of the day.

No disrespect to Baylor, but this game was a very winnable game for Cincinnati and I’m here to highlight three plays that burnt the home team from breaking their losing streak.

Failed 4th and 1 in the red zone in the first quarter

The game was 0-0, it was the first drive of the game Cincinnati had been moving the rock pretty easily and it was their second time going for it on 4th down. They converted on a 4th and 4 when Emory Jones hit Braden Smith for a 7 yard pass. On this particular 4th and 1, Cincy was at the Baylor 20, which would’ve been an easy 37 yard kick for Carter Brown. Satterfield opted not to take the points and on the play the mesh point between Jones and Corey Kiner caused a fumble which in turn was a turnover for Cincy.

Baylor didn’t score during their first drive, but Cincinnati missed out on points the first time touched the rock and with how things have been going lately you can’t let points slip away.
