What We Learned in Week 16 of the NFL Season

Week in and week out there are great games to go along with some amazing story lines. Week 16 continued a great trend of great moments during the football week. Feel free to chime in and comment on our selections if you like. Enjoy!

San Francisco 49ers v Seattle SeahawksThe Seattle Seahawks are Dangerous- The Seahawks whooped on my 49ers winning 42-13. The Seahawks have a strong running game, solid quarterback, strong defense, and solid special teams. This is a team that teams should be looking to avoid in the upcoming playoffs. Hats off to Pete Carroll to what he has accomplished in Seattle thus far.

The Packers are continuing to fly under the radar- Aaron Rodgers & Co are flying under the radar while teams such as the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos,  Atlanta Falcons and New England Pats are receiving national attention for their stellar play. The Pack beat up on the Titans 55-7, and is playing great football heading into the postseason.

Dez Bryant is a BEAST- S/O to my dog J.T. for the recent post on Dez Bryant. No matter how the Cowboys finish this season we all know that  No. 88 came to play! Dez is reaching all expectations on the field while minimizing his mishaps off the field (well lately lol). If he can continue his Pro Bowl level of play he will continue the tradition of the other wide receiver’s wearing No.88 in Dallas.

Megatron makes history- Calvin Johnson broke Jerry Rice’s single season yards mark for a wide receiver. I have some feelings about the record, but I won’t hate on Johnson today. Though the Lions Stink it appears that Megatron was one of few players who beat the Madden Curse.

The Bengals are Legit The culture has officialy changed in Cincinnati. The Bengals are making the playoffs for the second time in a row. This is something that has not happened in over 30 years. Marvin Lewis is still the commander in chief, but with Mike Zimmer and Jay Gruden as his coordinators it seems as if the Bengals have made the right changes. I don’t know how long they will sustain this level of play, but for now they look like a future AFC North power.

Andy Reid/Marty Mornhinweg are still clueless- You would think with a rookie quarterback it would be a primary focus to run the ball with LeSean McCoy. NOPE! The Eagles could have played spoiler in the NFC East, but with Nick Foles throwing 48 times to 13 carries for McCoy it makes me wonder even more about these two as a combo. Well, Philly fans Andy and Marty will be gone soon, but I can’t promise any better days.

The Return of the Choppa City Juke- S/O to Jacoby Jones for hitting the Choppa City Juke against the Giants. Every week I hope for a touchdown or big play from CJ2k, Jones, or William Gay (not really). It was good to see the Juke come back this week. Hopefully we can see it again next week lol.
