Taking a look at the Bearcats Week 2 performances in the NFL

The NFL season began two weeks ago and the University of Cincinnati produced a ton of talent last year. They produced nine NFL players from last year’s class alone and have seemingly picked up steam for being one of the top schools at producing talent. For Week 2 a ton of Bearcats made an impact for NFL teams let’s take a look at them and how they can build upon their Week 3 matchups.

Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner had a very impressive debut and continued his impressive performance in Week 2. Gardner finished the contest against the Browns with six tackles and allowed four catches for 33 yards. Gardner will have a tough matchup against the Bengals when he takes on Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins. Higgins had a lot to say about the young corner this week, “elite guy, he’s a good talent, it’ll be a challenge.”

Chris Moore has been a guy that constantly seems to carve out a role wherever he goes. Moore is in his second year with the Houston Texans and he has carved out a consistent role with the Texans offense. He started off his year with three catches for 31 yards in the tie with the Colts. This week he had two catches for 14 yards and will look to build upon that game against the Bears on the road.

Darrick Forest was the surprise on Sunday. Forest was given his first start in the NFL and he did not disappoint. Forest has always worked hard on special teams and has been considered a huge part of the Commanders special team unit. In Week 2 Forrest played well and finished the game against the Lions with 10 tackles.

Josiah Deguara is playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with Aaron Rodgers. Deguara has earned reps on the first team and second team since being drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft at No. 94. Deguara got his season started against the Vikings where he finished the game with two catches for 28 yards on limited action. He saw no action this week against the Bears, but will look to bounce back against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
